Install Joue and add your licence

Joue needs a Mac with Apple silicon, on macOS 26.

1. Download Joue from the Download page.
2. Open the disk image, Joue-0.1-….dmg, from your Downloads.
3. Drag Joue to Applications. The window shows you where.

Your licence

Joue opens, edits and saves shows without a licence, but needs one to play. During the beta, licences come by email:

1. Email joue@softfox.com. In Joue, Help › Ask for a Licence… starts the email for you, with your version of Joue in it.
2. When the licence file arrives, open Joue, then Settings › Licence › Add a new licence…, and choose it.

Each beta licence lasts a month, and we send a new one before it ends. That’s only so old test builds stop: the beta is free.
